To add a vertical curve to a design road

A vertical intersection point (VIP) and vertical curve are added to a design road in a single operation. You can add a VIP and vertical curve to a design road in-model, or by using the Profile View panel.

When you add a VIP and vertical curve, they're visible in both the drawing area and the Profile View panel.

To add a vertical curve in the model

1. Click Edit.
2. Select the design road.
Tip: You can rotate and pitch the model to bring the vertical manipulators into view.
3. Right-click the desired location of the VIP and vertical curve. Click Add VIP.

   A VIP and vertical curve are added at the location you selected. View them by adjusting the rotation and pitch of the model so that the vertical manipulators are visible.

To add a vertical curve in the Profile View panel

1. Click Edit.
2. Select the design road.
3. In Profile View, right-click the location at which you want to add the VIP and vertical curve. Click Insert VIP.

   A VIP and vertical curve are added at the location you selected.
