Identify the solution variables unique to Helius PFA.
Helius PFA calculates a number of specialized state variables that define the constituent average stress and strain fields and the damage state of the composite material. These user state variables (ESV's) are stored by MSC Nastran at each individual integration point within the finite element model. To examine these user state variables in Patran, the bulk data file must explicitly identify the state variables that will be written to the output file. This request is made via the NLOUT and UDSESV entries. Specific usage of these two entries are discussed later (Use a Text Editor to Convert Bulk Data Files). For now, it should be understood that they allow you to request which solution dependent state variables should be available for post-processing. Appendix C and Appendix D contain a detailed description of each MCT state variable for composite and cohesive materials.
