To Migrate Custom Settings From Previous Releases

The Migrate Custom Settings dialog box is displayed the first time you start the program after an upgrade. You can migrate your custom settings then, or launch the dialog box later, from the Windows Start menu or Start screen.

  1. To launch the Migrate Custom Settings dialog box at a later time, do one of the following:
    • Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button (All) Programs Autodesk <product name> Migrate Custom Settings Migrate From a Previous Release.
    • Windows 8: Right-click the Windows Start screen (or use the swipe up gesture from the bottom edge while on the Start screen). Click All Apps Autodesk <product name> Migrate Custom Settings Migrate From a Previous Release.
  2. In the Migrate Settings From drop-down list, select the release from which you want to migrate.
  3. In the Settings and Files to Migrate box, select the custom files that you want to migrate.
  4. Click OK.
  5. In the Migrate Custom Settings message, click OK to view the log file, or click No if you do not want to view the log file.

Each time the Migrate Custom Settings dialog box is used, the application resets the default CUIx file from the UserDataCache folder and then migrates any customization done in a previous release forward.
