Learn how to create a subassembly that can target an offset, elevation, or surface.
The following diagram explains the workflow for creating a subassembly that targets an offset, elevation, or surface in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Create a project | Use the menu bar to create a project, or open an existing PKT file. |
Specify subassembly parameters | Specify subassembly parameters in the settings and parameters panel. |
Create target parameters | Define offset, elevation, or surface target parameters using the Target Parameters tab. |
Add geometry elements | Drag and drop geometry elements from the Tool Box onto the Flowchart. |
Specify the target parameters for each geometry element | Select each geometry element from the Flowchart, and specify the target parameters in the Properties panel. |
Preview the geometry | Verify the geometry in the Preview panel. Test the target parameters by either dragging the target parameter in the Preview panel, or changing the preview value on the Target Parameters tab. |
Save the project | Use the menu bar to save the subassembly. |
