The ability to use cloud-based assets or restrict use to local assets only is provided through the Factory Assets default settings. You specify where downloaded cloud-based assets are stored. You are also able to disable automatic proxy detection and specify other asset-related preferences.
To access Factory Assets defaults:
- At the bottom of the Application menu
, click Options.
- In the Options dialog box, navigate to the Factory Assets tab.
- Check/uncheck Enable Cloud-based assets. Active by default, this setting lets you download and store cloud-based content. The downloaded assets are stored in a folder called FactoryCloudLibrary.
Click
Browse in the Local Cloud asset library section to specify a different location for the
FactoryCloudLibrary folder. Click
Clear Folder to remove the contents of the
FactoryCloudLibrary folder.
Note: Clearing the library folder forces all downloaded cloud-based assets to be downloaded again before they can be used.
- Automatic proxy detection is controlled by the LAN Settings in Internet Explorer's Internet Options. There may be instances where it is desirable to retain the "Automatically Detect" setting for normal web browsing, but there can occasionally be a degradation in performance when downloading Cloud-based assets. Activate the Disable automatic proxy detection check box to selectively override the default LAN Settings behavior and increase performance.
- To use the automatic layering feature when creating assets, enter a file in the Load Layers from File field containing layers to reference when creating the layer selection list. If you associate an asset with a layer, it is automatically placed in that layer when you place the asset in a layout. When you create an asset, you can select a layer from a list (created from the file designated here) or add a new layer.
- Select Snap to Connector to display connectors during asset placement. The tolerance indicates the distance between two connectors in which snapping is active.
- Specify a path to a default Inventor project file to reference when accessing asset libraries. The libraries associated with the selected project file appear in the Asset Browser in AutoCAD, allowing you to use Inventor assets in AutoCAD. The default project is referred to for all AutoCAD drawings unless you specify a different project in the Project file for current drawing field. This setting applies to the current drawing only.
To ensure that asset information syncs to the designated project file, check Use to set Inventor's active project before syncing. If this box is not checked, and you have a different Inventor project file open, placed asset information will sync to that project instead.
- Select Enable Automatic Layering to turn on the automatic layering feature used when placing assets. If you specify a layer property in a published asset, the asset is automatically placed in that layer when adding it to a layout.
