Changing Option Defaults

The Factory Design Utilities have default values that you can tailor to your manufacturing process. Where applicable you can set the units to the work day, per hour, per minute, or per second. Where the Desired Production Rate is not set to per work day the results are normalized to minutes.

To access the Factory Options:

  1. At the bottom of the Application menu , click Options.
  2. In the Options dialog box, navigate to the Factory tab.
  3. Click the appropriate button to edit the following settings:

Job Defaults

  1. Specify the desired number of units to produce for the selected unit of measure.
  2. Specify Part Quantity. Part quantity represents the number of parts in a job.
  3. Specify Batch Size. Batch Size represents how many jobs are in the batch.
  4. For example, a job has a Part Quantity of 10. Production from each job is transported in a container. A forklift can carry 10 containers on a palette. The batch size is 100. 10 parts/job × 10 jobs = 100 total parts.
