You can drag or smudge the layout of UVs on your polygonal or subdivision surface geometry using the
UV Smudge Tool in the
UV Editor.
The
Smudge Tool gives you a high level of control over your UVs, providing a more free-form approach to manipulating the layout of your UVs.
To smudge the layout of your UVs
- Select the geometry whose UVs you want to manipulate.
- Select
.
The
UV Editor appears.
- In the
UV Editor menu bar, select
.
The
UV Smudge Tool Options window appears.
- Set the
UV Smudge Tool options as required and then click
Apply and Close.
- Select
. The following occurs:
- The
UV Editor’s view switches to UV mode.
- All the UVs of the current geometry become selected.
- The
UV Smudge Tool brush appears in the
UV Editor’s view.
- If the
Middle Mouse Initiates tool setting is
off, do one of the following:
- In the
UV Editor’s view, left-drag with the mouse to smudge the layout of all your UVs.
- In the
UV Editor’s view, Shift-drag around the UVs you want to select and then drag to smudge the layout of the selected UVs.
If the
Middle Mouse Initiates tool setting is
on, do one of the following:
- In the
UV Editor’s view, middle-drag to smudge the layout of all your UVs.
- In the
UV Editor’s view, drag around the UVs you want to select and then middle-drag to smudge the layout of the selected UVs.
