Exporting an animation for visualization in Autodesk Showcase

For a more photorealistic rendition of the results, import them into Showcase.

You will need a copy of Autodesk Showcase.
  1. Select a result and ensure that the animation properties are set appropriately, including the number of frames, color, shading, mesh display etc.
  2. Click (Results tab > Export and Publish panel > FBX).
  3. In the FBX Export dialog, click Browse and enter a name and location to save the file.
  4. Check the Export as animation box, then click OK.
  5. Open Autodesk Showcase.
  6. Import the *.fbx file you just exported.
  7. Type B, on your keyboard (Story > Behaviors).
  8. In the Behaviors dialog, click Create and select Import FBX Animation from the drop-down menu.
  9. Select your *.fbx file and click Open.
  10. In the Animation Properties dialog, give the animation file a name, check the other settings, and click Playback Controls to enable the controls.
  11. Click Close to close the Animation Properties dialog.
