Load and Constrain the Rod Eye

In this step, we assign a pin constraint to the rod eye and then a 1500 lbf force to put the rod eye in tension.

  1. Change the selection type to Surfaces from the Selection tab.

  2. Select the internal surface of the rod eye.

  3. Click Setup Constraints Pin Constraint.

  4. Check Fix Radial and Fix Tangential, and click OK.

  5. Verify that the rod eye internal surface is still selected. Click Setup Loads Force.

  6. Enter -1500 as the Magnitude, and select Y. Click OK.

  7. Click keyboard Esc key to clear the selection.
