In this step, we assign a pin constraint to the rod eye and then a 1500 lbf force to put the rod eye in tension.
- Change the selection type to Surfaces from the Selection tab.
- Select the internal surface of the rod eye.
- Click Setup
Constraints
Pin Constraint.
- Check Fix Radial and Fix Tangential, and click OK.
- Verify that the rod eye internal surface is still selected. Click Setup
Loads
Force.
- Enter -1500 as the Magnitude, and select Y. Click OK.
What it should look like…
- Click keyboard Esc key to clear the selection.
