Define Contact Pairs

In this step, we change the default contact to a Surface Contact. We then assign a Bonded contact between the screws and the clevis and the screws and the retainer. This ensures that we have a realistic set of contacts between all parts in the assembly.

1. To change the default contact type, right-click on Contact from the Browser, and select Surface Contact.

   

2. To assign a bonded contact between one of the screws and clevis, select one screw, hold Ctrl and select the clevis.

   

3. Right-click, and select Contact Bonded.

   

4. Click keyboard Esc to clear the selection list.
5. Assign a Bonded contact between the other screw and the clevis.

   

6. To assign a bonded contact between a screw and retainer, select a screw, hold Ctrl and select the retainer.

   

7. Right-click, and select Contact Bonded.

   

8. Click keyboard Esc to clear the selection list.
9. Repeat with the other screw and the retainer.

   

10. Click keyboard Esc to clear the selection list.
