Visualize the von Mises Stress

In this step, we examine the von Mises Stress values. We use a slice plane to provide a clearer view of the assembly parts.

1. Click von Mises from the Stress panel to display stress on the assembly.

2. To hide the rod eye, right-click on its entry in the Browser, and uncheck Visibility.

   

3. To create a slice plane, click Results Options Slice Planes Add Slice Plane XY Plane.

4. To change the orientation of the plane, click Slice Planes Flip.

5. To drag the slice plane through the assembly, click Slice Planes Translate Parallel.

   

6. Click and hold the left mouse button on the slice plane, and drag it through the model. You should see this…

   

   

   

7. To delete the slice plane, expand the Presentations branch and the Slice Planes sub-branch. Right-click on XY Slice Plane, and click Delete.
