Appendix B - User Material Constants for Cohesive Materials

View details of each user-material constant for cohesive materials.

A set of user material constants are provided in the data line that immediately follows the *USER MATERIAL keyword statement. The Helius PFA User-Defined Material Subroutine uses these constants to determine the precise form of multiscale constitutive relations that should be used for the cohesive material. For any type of Helius PFA cohesive material, the number of user material constants must be between 8 and 11. The table below provides a short description of the feature controlled by each of the possible user material constants along with the allowable range of values for each constant.

Appendices B.1 - B.4 explain the user material constants in more detail. For a theoretical discussion of the cohesive material constitutive laws used in Helius PFA please see the Theory Manual.
