You can use object properties or object types to include objects in a highlighted selection set.
The selection criteria can be applied on a defined selection, on a set of highlighted objects or on the whole model.
All elements that fulfil the criteria are highlighted. The objects remain highlighted when you use other tools. It is of no importance how the selection was made.
