To Create a Network Share

Choose a shared network location for the administrative image.

A network share is an installation folder that all network computers can access. When you run the deployment, the process creates an administrative image and stores it in the network share. You install products from this network share.

Follow these best practices:

• Keep the share name simple and short, without spaces.
• Create the share folder at or near the top directory of the drive.
• If you have multiple deployments, keep each one in a separate folder.
• If you plan to create a network log file, make sure that individual users have read/write access to the share.
