Use these options to set the behavior of objects when transformations are reset or frozen. See alsoSet transformation values to zero.
Reset Transformations Options allow you to control whether a reset operation affects Translate, Rotate, Scale or a combination of these.
Freeze Transformations Options control the effects of a freeze operation, and the options are described below.
-
Freeze
- Use the options to control which types of transformations (Translate,
Rotate,
Scale, or
Joint orient) are frozen.
Note:
Freeze Transformations does not affect the translation transforms of joints because their translation transforms are required to define the lengths of their bones.
-
Lock normals
- Select from the following options:
-
Never
- When performing a freeze transform, the normals on your polygonal object are not locked.
-
Always
- When performing a freeze transform, the normals on your polygonal object are locked. If
Lock normals is set to
Always, normals are baked and will not update if you make subsequent tweaks to the object's shape.
-
Non-rigid Transformations Only
- When performing a freeze transform, the normals on your polygonal objects are locked if it’s a non-rigid transformation matrix (that is, a transformation that does not contain shear, skew or non-proportional scaling).
-
Preserve normals
-
When enabled, this option ensures that all transforms are oriented in the proper direction and not flipped, even on negatively scaled objects. This option is enabled by default.
Note: This option only works with polygonal objects.
