Identifying the Rotating Core for Cool(FEM) Overmolding

The Rotating Core is the mold cavity that rotates.

  1. Using the Layers pane, select the mold component containing the Rotating Core (1).
  2. Right-click in the Model pane and select Properties. Select Mold block (3D) and click OK.
  3. Select the Overmolding Mold Component tab, and then set the Component option to Rotational Component.
  4. A Set... button appears. Click it and specify the rotation axis and reference point.
Note: Automatic sets the reference point as the center of the mold. Only use this option if your mold is perfectly symmetric.
  5. Click OK in the Mold block (3D) dialog.
Note: Before clicking OK, ensure that the fixed cavity and the rotating core have different properties.
