To run jobs on a specific machine

When you launch a job, by default it runs on the local computer. You can run jobs on other machines on the network if they have the same version of software installed.

Make sure that you have configured a remote server. The procedure described here allows you to run jobs on either Windows or Linux platforms.

Note: The number of jobs that can be run simultaneously depends on the availability of licenses on your license server. Each reserved license allows three simultaneous jobs, however if the Synergy GUI is running this limit is reduced to two jobs for the first reserved license.
To run the analysis immediately
  1. In the Studies pane, click on the study you want to run.
Note: Select multiple studies using the Shift or Ctrl keys.
  2. Right-click the mouse, and select Analyze On.
  3. Select the specific machine from the drop-down list.
Note: If the machine you want to use is not listed, add it to the Server Management tool.
To add the analysis to the batch queue
  1. In the Studies pane, click on the study you want to run.
Note: Select multiple studies using the Shift or Ctrl keys.
  2. Right-click the mouse, and select Batch Analysis On.
  3. Select the specific machine from the drop-down list.
Note: If the machine you want to use is not listed, add it to the Server Management tool.
  4. Start processing the batch queue from the Simulation Job Manager.

You can now minimize the Simulation Job Manager and continue working with other studies. To view the progress of the analysis running on the remote machine, either open the study and select the Logs checkbox, then select the Analysis Log tab, or open the Job Manager dialog to view the percentage progress of the analysis.
