Setting up a Microcellular injection molding analysis

This task assumes you have imported a model, meshed it and checked the mesh for errors, and set your injection locations and your boundary conditions.

1. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel) and select Thermoplastics Microcellular Injection Molding from the list.
2. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Analysis Sequence) and select the appropriate analysis sequence from the list, then click OK.
3. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Select Material) and select the plastic you plan to use from the database, then click OK.
4. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Process Settings) and ensure that you enter all the appropriate information on each page.
5. On the Microcellular Injection Molding Settings page, select the Initial gas amount that you want to use.
   Note: Alternatively, select a Chemical blowing agent (CBA) and then click Edit value to specifiy its properties.
6. Select the Bubble nucleation model you would like to use.
7. Select the microcellular foaming gas you plan to use and edit if necessary, then click OK and/or Finish to close the dialog.
8. Click (Home tab > Analysis panel > Start Analysis) to begin the analysis.
