Pressure at freeze result

The Pressure at fill result maps the pressure at each node at the time that node freezes. This primarily happens during the packing and cooling phase of the injection cycle.

If a node is unfrozen at ejection time, a zero is used as the result.

Using this result

This result is a good indicator of nodal shrinkage variance. A high pressure value indicates a small nodal shrinkage value, while a low pressure at freeze indicates a high nodal shrinkage. Uneven shrinkage can cause the part to warp.

Things to look for

Uniform part shrinkage, especially in areas with critical dimensional requirements will result in a better finished part. Altering processing parameters, geometry to address flow restrictions, and injection locations might help balance the pressure distribution at freeze time.
