Wall thickness

In the analysis of wall thickness you can check if the part’s wall reaches your and your machine’s requirements. First, determine the minimum value of the Critical Wall thickness. All results that are lower this number will be colored red and everything that’s higher will be colored green. Then you can define what percentage of the part may be smaller than the just described number. With the next two buttons, you can save and load your own standard settings. For example, if you need all your parts to have a wall thickness of at least 0.5mm, type that value in the Critical Wall thickness and 0.0% in the Critical Surface. Then press Save as default and you will be able to use those settings later. For large meshes the test can take a lot of time. By checking the cancel calculation as soon as test fails box in the fast mode section, it is possible to speed up the process quite a bit. The calculation will abort after the first wall that is thinner than the set threshold has been found. Therefore you can check quickly whether your part meets your needed standards, but not all the failed walls are displayed in red color.

In this dialog you can make adjustments to the test values, safe and load default settings and enable or disable fast mode.

The test results are displayed on the right. On the left walls that are too thin are visualized in red color
