- This tutorial uses the results from the model analyzed in the Truss Tower Natural Frequency - Modal Analysis tutorial. If this tutorial was not completed, use the archive file, Truss Tower Modal Results.ach, in your tutorial models folder.
- Apply four 250 lbf loads in the -Z direction to the top four nodes of the tower. Ramp the load up from zero to the specified magnitude over the first 0.25 seconds of the simulation. Then, maintain the load throughout the remainder of the simulation.
- Two seconds into the simulation, begin applying four 375 lbf loads in the -X direction to the four nodes at the center of the tower. Ramp the load up from zero to the specified magnitude in 0.25 seconds. Then maintain the load throughout the remainder of the simulation.
- Specify a damping ratio of 0.01 for both the mass and stiffness matrices.
- Run the analysis for a total of four seconds. Specify 80 calculation steps of 0.05 seconds duration each (80 * 0.05 = 4).
