Truss Tower Transient Stress Analysis

In this tutorial, we perform a transient stress (direct integration) analysis on a truss tower to determine the effect of applied forces that vary over time. Linear transient stress analyses are applicable to structures experiencing small displacements and using linear material properties. For large displacements and nonlinear materials, mechanical event simulation (MES) or static stress with nonlinear material models analyses are required. Unlike response spectrum, random vibration, frequency response, and transient stress (modal superposition) analyses; transient stress (direct integration) analyses do not require that you first perform a modal analysis on the structure.
