The pedal arm contains weld surface data from Moldflow. In order to understand the effect the weld surfaces have on the structural life of the pedal arm, we must first calculate the strength reduction factor for each point that lies on the weld surface.
- Switch to the Material tab and click
(Material > Weld Surfaces > Weld Surface Properties).
- Make sure the
Weld Surface properties are calculated automatically option is selected.
Note: To use the automatic calculation method, the material used in the Moldflow simulation must contain the necessary weld surface parameters. Refer to the Weld Surface Strengths section of the User's Guide for more details.
- Click OK.
Here we can see the weld surface movement on the Moldflow study. After we map results, we will be able to see the calculated strength reduction factors for the structural model.
