Grouping Key Parameters

Create groups to organize key parameters for easy identification in a layout.

Simplify the editing process of parameters in your design by grouping key parameters so they are organized, and easy for others to identify in a factory layout.

Add key parameters to customized groups through the Key Parameters dialog in the Factory Asset Builder or Asset Editor.

Note: Do not use a space-only entry to create a blank group name. You must also include text in your group name.

To create a group:

1. On the View tab Windows panel User Interface option, select the Key Parameters checkbox.



2. Select and right click the asset in the Asset Browser, and then select Edit from the context menu.

   

3. In the Asset Editor Model Browser, select the next to the Model browser tab.
4. Optionally, Use the Asset Builder to customize Key Parameters once the Asset is published.
5. Select Key Parameters from the list.
6. Type in the custom name for your group in the Group column of the Key Parameters dialog.
7. Click Finish Asset Editor from the ribbon.
8. Click Save.
9. If prompted, in the Save Asset dialog, click OK.
10. To update the asset instance with new properties, click Update Assets on the Factory ribbon.
11. Drag the asset from the Asset Browser and click the layout to place.
12. To view your Group in the Factory Properties dialog, on the Factory tab Tools panel Palettes menu, select Factory Properties.
13. Select the asset on the layout to expose the key parameters in the Factory Properties dialog.
