Cloud-based Assets
Cloud assets are downloaded on demand and deposited in the Local Cloud asset library on disk. Default local paths are established during installation. You can specify alternate locations for cloud-based assets.
| Enable Cloud-based assets | Enables the use of cloud-based assets through the Asset Browser. The Asset Browser displays an icon that shows the cloud-based asset enabled/disabled state. |
| Local Cloud asset library | Specifies the path to the local library of cloud assets. These are assets that have been downloaded from the factory cloud server.
Use the Browse... button to modify the location where cloud assets are stored. |
| Proxy settings | Automatic proxy detection is a setting that is controlled by the LAN Settings in Internet Explorer's Internet Options. Activate this checkbox to override the LAN setting and improve performance when downloading cloud-based assets. |
| Restore Defaults | Re-establishes the default path locations. |
Asset Builder
| Load Layers from File | Specifies the file to reference when generating a layer selection list for the automatic layering feature. |
Snap to Connector
Controls whether connectors are displayed and active on assets during placement. The minimum snapping distance between connectors is also specified here.
| Snap to Connector during placement and repositioning | When active, this checkbox setting snaps to connection points that have been defined in assets. It is active by default.
Tip: This setting can also be activated or deactivated by clicking
Connectors Enabled
or
Connectors Disabled
on the AutoCAD Factory ribbon. You can also toggle this setting on/off from the command line using the
FACT_CSNAP command.
|
| Connector snap Tolerance (in Pixels) | The Connector snap Tolerance value defines the distance between two connectors to enable snapping. By default this value is set to 20 pixels. |
Libraries
User-defined factory assets are authored in Inventor. The location of those assets is defined in a related Inventor project file (.ipj). To have the 2D representations of those user assets available in the AutoCAD Factory you must specify the Inventor project file where those assets are located. Each library listed in the project file is added as an asset library in AutoCAD.
| Default project file | Specify or browse to the Inventor project file containing the asset libraries you want to access and sync to in AutoCAD. Information for placed assets is also stored in this file when syncing from AutoCAD to Inventor.
The asset libraries referenced in the specified project file appear in the User Assets folder in the Asset Browser. |
| Project file for current drawing | Enter a file path here to access a different Inventor project file specifically for the current drawing. This setting overrides the default project file setting. |
| Use to set Inventor's active project before syncing | When a project file other than the one specified in the settings is open at the time the sync occurs, this setting automatically activates the specified file to ensure that information syncs correctly. |
Placement
| Enable automatic layering | Select this option to activate the automatic layering feature in Asset Properties. This feature lets you define a placement layer for an asset. If you leave this option blank, assets are placed in the active layer of the layout. |
| Enable custom color for nonstandard asset instances in chains | Occasionally, nonstandard asset lengths are created in the AutoCAD Factory asset chaining process and automatically converted to custom assets. By default, these custom assets are represented by the color red in AutoCAD Factory. The Enable custom color for nonstandard asset instances in chains checkbox allows you to disable this setting, or specify a different color to be assigned to these assets when placed during asset chain population in AutoCAD. Select the Color drop-down menu to display the color options. Select one of the index colors, or choose from a larger color palette to define your custom color. |
