Review Time to reach ejection temperature of the two-shot overmolding process

In this task you review the Time to reach ejection temperature and the Time to reach ejection temperature (overmolding) results.

  1. Click Time to reach ejection temperature in the Study Tasks pane.

This result shows the amount of time required to reach the ejection temperature, measured from the start of fill.

  2. Click (Results tab > Properties panel > Plot Properties).
  3. Select the Animation tab.
  4. Set Animate result over to Show higher values, then click OK.
  5. Animate the result.

The injection, packing and cooling time is 21 s; notice that most of the part reaches ejection temperature around 15 s (which is during cooling). The last section to reach ejection temperature is in the part close to the hot gate as expected.

  6. Repeat the process for the Time to reach ejection temperature (overmolding) results.
  7. Animate the result.

The injection, packing and cooling time is also 21 s; notice that most of the part reaches ejection temperature around 18 s (which is during cooling). The last section to reach ejection temperature is in the last point to fill.
