Electrode options in Windows Explorer

To view and specify Electrode options in Windows Explorer:

  1. Right-click a file with a .trode extension to display the context menu.
  2. Expand the Electrode menu to display the electrode shell extension options:

    You can View:

    • HTML
    • General Assembly Diagram
    • Detail Diagram

    Extract:

    • Geometry
    • HTML Data
    • General Assembly Diagram
    • Detail Diagram
    • Inspection Data
    • Electrode NC code
    • Workpiece NC code
    • EDM Script
    • Corrected EDM Script

.trode files generated by PowerShape do not have any inspection corrections. These are added to the .trode archive if the PowerInspect Electrode Inspection Wizard is used.

If there are no inspection corrections, you can extract only the original (uncorrected) script files. They are the same as when they were when generated by PowerShape.

If there are inspection corrections, you can:

    • extract scripts in their original uncorrected form.
    • apply the corrections and output the adjusted version.
Note: You can extract all formats, but can currently correct only the following formats:

    JDMA

    CERTA

    Charmilles

    Exeron

    ONA

    Zimmer Kreim

    Sodick

    Makino

    Mitsubishi EPX

    Mitsubishi NC (ESPER)

Tip: You can also use a typed command to extract a corrected EDM export file:

    electrodesession extract edmfiles

  3. Click Send to MPP to open the MPP electrode management system, and transfer the data from the .trodefile required to generate the electrode NC code.

This option is only displayed if MPP is installed on your computer, and the selected .trode file contains a +GF+ MPP script.

  4. Click About to display electrode shell extension version and copyright information.
