About the Autodesk Civil Engineering Data Translator

You can use the Autodesk® Civil Engineering Data Translator to translate Autodesk® Civil 3D® files to files that can be used in Bentley® GEOPAK® and Bentley® InRoads®, and to translate GEOPAK and InRoads files to files that can be used in Autodesk Civil 3D.

The Autodesk Civil Engineering Data Translator requires an Autodesk account and an Internet connection. If you do not have an Autodesk account, you can create one when the Civil Engineering Data Translator Client Login dialog box is displayed.

Uploading Files, Monitoring Progress, and Downloading Translation Results

You can use the Civil Engineering Data Translator Client dialog box to upload files to translate, to monitor the status of translation jobs, and to download the resulting files. A report file with an .xlsx file extension is created for each translation job. The report file lists what was converted and lists any differences between the source objects and the converted objects.

Note: Uploading and downloading must occur on the same computer.

Translating Drawing Files that Contain Data References

Vault data references of surfaces, alignments, and profiles, and some data shortcut references in a drawing must be promoted if you want the referenced objects to be exported when using the Civil Engineering Data Translator to translate the drawing files.
