To Transparently Use an Alignment and COGO Point to Specify a Point Location

You can specify the X and Y coordinates for a point by identifying an alignment and COGO point.

Define profile layout entities by specifying a station and elevation based on plan view objects. Examples of COGO points that may be used to define a layout profile are points along the parent alignment or other alignment, survey points, or points derived from a corridor.

  1. When you are prompted to enter a point in a command, do one of the following:
    • Click Transparent Commands tab Profile panel Profile Station and Elevation From COGO Point .
    • Right-click to display the Transparent Commands context menu Station/Elevation From COGO Point.
    • Activate the transparent command toolbar and select Profile Station and Elevation From COGO Point .
    • Enter 'spe.
  2. In plan view, select an alignment.
  3. Select a COGO point.
  4. Select the profile view again.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Select additional points in plan view to create additional points with the corresponding alignment station and elevation values.
    • Press Esc to end the transparent command.
