The Modify submenu provides several ways to change a mesh selection, as explained in the table below.
Select All | Select the entire object where the selection is placed |
Select Visible | Select the part of the mesh facing the camera |
Expand Ring | Expand the outer boundary of the selection |
Contract Ring | Contract the outer boundary of the selection |
Expand to Connected | Include all triangles connected to the selection |
Expand to Groups | Include all triangles in the same face group as the selection |
Invert | Select all parts of the object not included in the selection |
Invert (Connected) | Select all parts of the object not included in the selection, but connected to it |
Optimize Boundary | Redraw the selection boundary to make it shorter and more direct.
This can involve filling holes and removing jagged edges. |
