To set different dispensing volumes per pass

For each dispensing path you create, you can specify multiple passes and different dispensing volumes for each pass.

Dynamic dispensing in underfill encapsulation is supported for the following mesh types:

This task assumes you have set injection locations along each dispensing path, you have selected Underfill encapsulation as the molding process, and you have created dispensing controllers.

  1. Select the start controller for a dispensing path, right-click, and select Properties.
  2. Click Edit data to open the Dispensing data dialog.
  3. Enter the amount of melt you want dispensed, either as a percentage of the part volume, or as an absolute amount. This value is essentially a maximum volume to dispense per pass.
  4. In the table, enter the Start time and the End time for each pass.
Note: The first dispensing pass must start at time t=0. If you have multiple dispensing paths, the first pass for one path must start at zero, but the first pass for other paths can start at times other than zero.
  5. For each pass, enter the proportion of the dispensing volume you want to dispense, in the Pass volume multiplier column.

For example, if the Dispensing volume per pass is 70%, and the Pass volume multiplier is 0.5, then 35% of the part volume is dispensed in that pass.

Note: Although the dispensing speed is constant for each pass, you can alter the dispensing speed of the different passes by controlling the time over which the volume is dispensed.
