To create dynamic dispensing controllers

Ensure you have assigned injection locations to all nodes along your dispensing path, and you know which one represents the start of the dispensing path and which one represents the end.

Perform dynamic analysis is supported for the following mesh type(s):

  • 3D

This task assumes you have imported a model, generated a mesh, and selected Underfill encapsulation as the molding process.

  1. Make visible the layer that contains the part nodes, so you can see the nodes along the dispensing path.
  2. Click Set Controller (Boundary Conditions tab > Dispensing panel > Set Controller) to open the Set Dispensing controller dialog.
  3. Click Edit to open the Dispensing controller dialog.
  4. In the Dispensing controller dialog, select Start node from the drop-down menu, and type a unique name for the start node properties.
  5. Click Edit data to open the Dispensing data dialog.
  6. Decide how many dispensing passes you would like to perform and the volume of encapsulant you would like to dispense in each pass, and enter the information in the relevant boxes. Make sure that the start time of the first pass is 0, and that the start time of all subsequent passes is after the end time of the previous pass.
Attention: If you have more than one dispensing path, the start time of the first pass for one dispensing path must be 0, but other dispensing paths can start after 0.
  7. Click OK to close the Dispensing data dialog, then click OK again to close the Dispensing controller dialog.
  8. In the Set Dispensing controller dialog, if you haven't already created an end node property, click New to create one.
  9. Select End node from the drop-down menu, type a unique Name for the end node controller, and click OK.

Now assign these controllers to your chosen start and end nodes.
