The Modifier file

The modifier file ( <ModifierFile>) is an XML file describing the changes you want to apply to the original study file.

The basic layout of the file is:

Attention: These commands are case-sensitive and will fail unless typed correctly.

The unit system is related to this file content and may differ from the study content. Valid units are:

· Metric
· English
· SI (m/g/N)

References for unit can be found in the file 'units97.dat' in the data folder of the program installation folder: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Moldflow Synergy 2019\data\dat\units97.dat

There are five basic sections in the modifier file:

Section	XML tag	Description
Boundary condition	<BoundaryCondition> </BoundaryCondition>	For changes to the analysis boundary conditions. · injection locations, · coolant inlets, · warpage constraints.
Mesh	<Mesh></Mesh>	For including mesh data to replace the original mesh data.
Properties	<Property></Property>	For changes specific to analysis properties.
Material	<Material></Material>	For changing the material used in the study. When doing an overmolding process, the material for either shot can be altered.
Geometry	<Geometry></Geometry>	For changing the CAD geometry used in the study. All the information to change the geometry is contained in each CadModfication set.
