Select a local coordinate system

When viewing warpage results, you can choose to view them relative to the global coordinate system or a local coordinate system.

There are several ways you can change how you view the results, to use a local coordinate system:
  • Plot Properties dialog
  • Examine tool
  • Warpage Visualization Tools
  1. Note: Plot Properties dialog.
Click ( Results tab > Properties panel > Plot Properties) to open the Plot properties tab.
  2. Select the Deflection tab.

There are two sections where you can select a local coordinate system; Color Dataset and Shrinkage compensation. The color dataset changes the color relative to a local coordinate system. The shrinkage compensation enables you to view the estimated shrinkage relative to a local coordinate system. This assumes you have the estimated information available to enter here.

  3. Select your local coordinate system from the Reference coordinate system drop down menu.
  4. Click Apply to view the effect of your selection.
  5. When you are satisfied with the result, click OK to close the dialog.
  6. Note: Examine Tool.
Click (Results tab > Plots panel > Examine) to see the warpage at any given node.
  7. Select Local from the drop down menu at the bottom right corner of the Deflection Query window to switch from the global coordinate system to your LCS.
  8. Click on the model, or enter specific node numbers and click Query.
  9. Click the x in the top right corner of the dialog to close it.
