Remesh a surface mesh area

Use this dialog to change the edge length of an area of a surface mesh or beams.

Use the Remesh Area command to change the edge length of the mesh of a defined area. For example, improve the mesh accuracy in areas containing small features.

Note: The Remesh Area command does not support 3D models. For 3D models, use the Remesh Tetras tool.

To remesh an area of a surface mesh:

1. Ensure the Select Facing entities option (Geometry tab > Selection panel > Select Facing entities) is turned off.
2. Confirm that the required layers in the Layers pane are active.

3. Click (Mesh tab > Mesh Edit panel > Advanced > Remesh Area).

4. Select the entities you want to remesh, using the Ctrl key if necessary.
5. Enter the target Edge length
6. Click Preview, or use the Scale slider to preview the changes.

   

7. Click Apply.
