Remesh Area tool dialog

Use this tool to change the edge length of an area or a surface mesh, or of beam elements.

To access this dialog, click (Mesh tab > Mesh Edit panel > Advanced > Remesh Area).

Dialog element	Explanation
Select entities to remesh	Specifies which element numbers to change. Select the area on the model to be remeshed, or enter the entity numbers in the dialog.
Edge length	From The existing edge length. To The edge length for the remeshed area. The selected value can be entered manually or updated to reflect any Scale slider adjustment.
Preview	Click Preview to view the impact of the proposed edge length. Assess the impact of the settings by reviewing the original nodes that still appear over the modified mesh . These changes do not take effect until you click Apply.
Scale	Adjust the slider scale to see what a coarser or finer mesh looks like. The original nodes are shown on the model as large nodes that usually don’t align with the modified mesh.
Create as	This feature is disabled.
Filter	When selecting the area to remesh, other mesh elements such as beam elements or cooling channels can inadvertently be selected. Set the filter to Triangles to highlight only the part mesh.
