Pump dialog - Pump Data tab

Applies to 2018.3 Update and later

This dialog is used to input the performance of your coolant pump using data from your pump's pump curve, when running a Coolant Flow analysis.

To access this dialog, select the Pump element, then either select Edit (Geometry tab > Properties panel > Edit), or right-click and select Properties from the drop-down menu. Select the Pump data tab.

A default pump curve is provided, if you don't have pump performance data. However, your results are more accurate if you enter data that reflects the performance of your actual pump.

Dialog element Explanation
Reference density

When pump's performance is tested by the manufacturer, they record the fluid they used for the testing. This information is provided to you with the pump curve information for the pump.

Identify the density of the pump curve test fluid, at the temperature the pump curve was run, and enter it here.

Pump controller

Select the pump performance data for your pump. A default pump curve is provided, by default.

If you have a pump curve for your pump, create a new pump properties database, and save the new database with a memorable name. Add the pump curve data to the pump properties. You can then select this pump curve for each new study.

Alternatively, if you only want to use the data with this study, edit the default curve, and save the pump with a new name. This data is only available to this study.
