Use the Offset command to apply an offset distance to surface mesh elements from their original position and in the surface normal direction.

Dialog element | Explanation |

Offset distance from original position |
Select the offset distance. If the distance is positive, the selected elements move outwards. If the distance is negative, the selected elements move inwards. |
Preview |
Does not include remeshing of surrounding triangles. Avoid input mistakes or unexpected intersection by checking results before applying changes. |
Remesh surrounding triangles |
This option is checked by default. Checked: all triangles on neighboring faces are remeshed, to smooth the transition between surface. Deselected: all triangles on neighboring faces are stretched. |
Falloff |
By default the falloff distance is two times the offset distance. Select By specific distance to specify the dimension of the affected area around the offset. Enter then the Falloff distance to define this area. |
