Automatic mesh sizing assigns edge lengths and chord angles on CAD faces automatically, based on model dimension and curvature.
This feature is available for the following mesh types:
3D

Dual Domain
Advantages of automatic mesh sizing
- A fine mesh in areas of high curvature enables a balance between analysis accuracy and computational time. Small feature geometry is represented more accurately.

- The same edge length is used on contact interfaces between different bodies in assemblies. This improves heat transfer simulation.
- The mold mesh is graded, with large mesh elements used on external faces and smaller elements used on internal faces. The mold has a relatively large volume of solid material that does not need a fine mesh for an accurate analysis. Internal mold faces are meshed finer to capture the more dynamic nature of the process in that area.

With auto sizing the Chord length settings are not used for fillets. This avoids a dense mesh in areas that are usually of little interest.
