Increase triangle count by subdividing existing triangles
During a mesh refinement, the existing triangles are split into smaller triangles until all triangles meet the threshold edge length requirement. The shape of the part is not adjusted by this operation, but it can be particularly useful for smoothing operations which require a more refined mesh.

Tip: You can also right-click the display and choose
Refine Triangle Mesh.
- Make your adjustments as needed:
- Select whether to refine only those areas composed of triangles that are currently selected.
- Adjust the
Max. Edge Length as required to control the size of the refined mesh.
- Click
OK.
Note: You can select one or more triangles in the mesh and start the
Refine Triangle Mesh command to apply the operation to only the selected triangles, as opposed to the entire part.

A mesh refinement is applied to the selected surfaces of the cube.
