Autodesk Nastran In-CAD 2019 (March 2018)

Autodesk® Nastran® In-CAD 2019 is available to customers with a current Subscription and to new customers purchasing a Subscription license.

The Nastran In-CAD software is an add-in to Autodesk Inventor; the compatible versions are listed in the following checklist. Before you install the product:

• Ensure that your computer hardware meets the specified System Requirements.
• The supported Autodesk Inventor (Standard or Professional) version is 2019.
• You must have approximately 1.5GB of free disk space. A quick check prior to beginning the installation may save you some time.

Installation Procedure

1. Log into your computer as an Administrator.
2. Download the executable installer file or insert the product DVD into your DVD drive.
3. If you are working from the product DVD, locate the Setup.exe file, right-click it, and choose Run as Administrator to start the installation process. Then, skip to step 5.
4. Alternatively, if you downloaded the single-file installer from the Autodesk website, locate that file, right-click it, and choose Run as Administrator. The downloadable installer is a self-extracting archive.
   1. Specify the Destination folder to which you want to extract the installer files.
   2. Click Install. The files in the archive will be extracted to your hard drive, and the Setup.exe file will be launched automatically.
5. On the Autodesk Nastran In-CAD dialog that appears, click Install to advance to the next screen.
6. Accept the License and Services Agreement by activating the I accept radio button and click Next.
7. To install both Autodesk Nastran In-CAD and Autodesk Nastran, keep both check boxes enabled (default). To only install Autodesk Nastran, disable the Autodesk Nastran In-CAD check box. You cannot install Autodesk Nastran In-CAD without Autodesk Nastran.
8. Optionally, change the Installation path if desired (for example, if you are running low on free space on your system drive).
   Note: A Nastran 20xx subfolder is created within the folder you specify in the Installation path field. You do not need to specify a product-specific subfolder as part of the Installation path; just specify the parent folder path.
9. Click Install.
10. When the installation process is completed, click Finish to dismiss the installer package.
11. After installing the software, uninstall any versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader that are prior to V7.0.
12. If not already installed, download and install the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from https://get.adobe.com/reader. This program is required for accessing some of the Nastran In-CAD documentation.
    Note: Most of the Nastran In-CAD Help is accessed online using your web browser. Optionally, you can download and install a local copy of the Help, which is also accessed using your web browser. However, other documents (such as the Autodesk Nastran In-CAD Verification Manual), are provided as locally installed PDF files. The Acrobat Reader is needed for these files.
