Bolt Instance Properties

Modify bolt instance properties to change the number of bolts, bolt standard and grade, coatings, and more.

To change instance properties, select the element and change its properties on the Properties palette.

Name Description
Structural
Standard Specifies the specification standard of the bolt.
Grade Specifies the grade defining the tensile and yield strengths of the bolt.
Diameter Specifies the diameter of the bolt shank.
Assembly Specifies the assembled parts of the bolt connection. For example: a bolt, nut, and 2 washers (Na2W)
Coating Specifies the material coating the bolt.
Number on side 1 (Square sketched patterns only) The number of bolts distributed along the longer sketched side of the bolt pattern.
Number on side 2 (Square sketched patterns only) The number of bolts distributed along the shorter sketched side of the bolt pattern.
Length on side 1 (Square sketched patterns only) The length of the longest sketched side of the bolt pattern.
Length on side 2 (Square sketched patterns only) The length of the shorter sketched side of the bolt pattern.
Intermediate distance on side 1 (Square sketched patterns only) The distance between bolts along the longer sketched side of the bolt pattern.
Intermediate distance on side 2 (Square sketched patterns only) The distance between bolts along the shortersketched side of the bolt pattern.
Edge distance on side 1 (Square sketched patterns only) The distance between the edge of the longer sketched side of the pattern and the first bolt.
Edge distance on side 2 (Square sketched patterns only) The distance between the edge of the shorter sketched side of the pattern and the first bolt.
Radius (Circular sketched patterns only) The radius of the sketched circular bolt pattern.
Number (Circular sketched patterns only) The number of bolts distributed around the sketched circular bolt pattern.

Image

Associates an image with the selected element instance. Click the value field and then the browse button to open the Manage Images dialog. See Manage Images Dialog.

Comments User comments for the element.
Mark

A label created for the element. Possible use: shop mark. This value must be unique for each element in a project. Revit warns you if the number is already used but allows you to continue using it. You can see the warning using the Review Warnings tool. See Review Warning Messages.
