Civil 3D is available as a separate installation for
Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 through the Autodesk Desktop App. After you install the application, the Dynamo-related commands are available on the Manage ribbon tab in

To open Autodesk Dynamo for
Civil 3D
To open and run a sample script file
Sample scripts and associated drawing files are included with the Autodesk Dynamo for
Civil 3D installation.
The sample scripts and associated drawing files are installed to:
- Dynamo Scripts.C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D
2020\Dynamo\Samples\en-US
- Drawings and associated files.
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D
2020\Dynamo\Samples\Data
- In
Autodesk Civil 3D, navigate to
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D
2020\Dynamo\Samples\Data, open one of the sample folders, and open the drawing associated with the script file.
- Click Manage tab Visual Programming panel Dynamo
.
- In the Dynamo application window, click Open.
- In the Open dialog box, navigate to
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D
2020\Dynamo\Samples\en-US, and open one of the sample folders.
- Select the script associated with the drawing that you opened.
Tip: You can select the Open in Manual Execution Mode check box if you want to prevent the script from running automatically in the drawing.
- Click OK.
The script opens in the Dynamo editor. You can review the script in the Dynamo editor to examine how it is constructed.
- Click Run at the bottom of the application window to run the script in the drawing.
