
An audio waveform automatically displays in the
Time Slider when you import an audio file.
Tip:
To change the default color of the waveform by changing the
Sound color swatch in the
Color Settings (in the
Animation section).
There are three ways you can specify which audio file displays in the
Time Slider
Note: Playback speed must be set to
Real-time or you are only able to hear sound while scrubbing, not during playback. To do this, right-click Maya's
Time Slider and choose Real-time from the Playback Speed options.
Delete Audio files
You can disable the audio file from the scene or you can remove an audio file completely:
There are three ways to delete audio files from your scene
- Select
- Right-click the Volume icon
in the
Playback Options and expand the
Delete Sounds rollout, where a list of all the audio files associated with the scene displays. Choose the file you want to delete.
- Right-click the
Time Slider and select

Delete Sounds rollout, where a list of all the audio files associated with the scene displays. Choose the file you want to delete.
There are two ways to clear audio files from the
Time Slider
- Right-click the Volume icon
in the
Playback Options and select
Off.
- Right-click the
Time Slider and select
Sound >
Off. This disables the audio.
