To distinguish local and cloud-stored projects

Apart from the storage location, there is no formal difference between projects stored on local file systems and those stored on Autodesk Cloud. To tell them apart, or to tell whether a project has already been saved to the cloud, use these indicators:

  1. In the top-right corner, near your Sign-in, find the cloud icon. indicates an offline project, indicates that the current project has been loaded from, or already saved to, the cloud.
  2. The file extension of a regular projects is FABBPROJECT while the extension of a cloud-based project is NETFABBONLINE. You will see it in the title bar of the application window of Netfabb.

To store a project to Autodesk Cloud

For uploading a project onto the cloud, you will be asked to provide project name and location in your Autodesk Cloud space.

Note: A cloud-based Netfabb project and an A360 project are different things even though they're both called projects.
  1. Choose File > Save Project Online.

This will open the cloud file browser.

  2. Navigate to the desired location inside an A360 project.
  3. Provide a name by typing it into the Name field, or click an existing NETFABBONLINE project to overwrite.
  4. Click Save.

Now that the project is established on the cloud, using Save Project will always save to the cloud space.

To share a project on Autodesk Cloud

For sharing on the cloud you receive a generated URL you can provide to others so they may examine and discuss it in their browser. To share, the project must be stored on the cloud before proceeding. If necessary, you will be asked, and given the necessary dialog, to do so.

  1. Choose File > Share.

This will provide you with a dialog that contains the URL to share, and you may copy it to the clipboard.

This URL will lead to an online 3D viewer where the project can be examined and annotated by invited users.
