To generate shell transitions

Connect two dissimilar meshes with a curved, closed mesh net

When connecting two shells with dissimilar cross sections, a smooth transition from one contour to the other is often desired. This method performs just this task.

Note: You can generate only one connection at a time.

1. Arrange the parts into the desired position and merge them into a single part using Modify > Edit shells > Merge selected parts.
2. Select the new part and choose Home > Repair part.
3. Remove the triangles closing the surfaces that you want to join.
4. Select the triangles that include the open contours that you want to join. To do so conveniently, you can right-click the hole edge and choose Select all surrounding triangles from the context menu.
   Note: It is not necessary to select the triangles only that actually touch the open contours, so you can be generous in your selection. However, you must not select the entire shells, either.
5. From the main menu, choose Join Contours.
