Merge open triangle edges very close and mostly parallel into one common, closed edge
Corners and edges of adjacent triangles are merged. If the corner of two adjacent triangles are not in the exact same location, the corners are moved together, which can slightly distort the shape of the part.
This command has been removed from the main menu and is now only available in the context view, by using the script action, or through the context menu.
- In the context view, switch to the
Actions tab.
- Choose
Stitch Triangles.
- Specify the
tolerance which defines the maximum distance corners may be moved.
Note: The tolerance cannot be exactly zero.
- If at least two triangles are selected, you can enable
Selected Triangles only to only apply the stitching operation to the selected triangles. If disabled, the operation is applied to all triangles.
- Enable the
Ignore Orientation check box to connect triangles with opposing normals. Please note that this may generate meshes that include triangles with inverted normals, which should be addressed afterwards.
- Click
OK to execute stitching based on your settings.
