Constant Z finishing (PartMaker)

Constant Z finishing creates a toolpath by slicing the model at specific heights (or levels). This works well on near-vertical surfaces that require a consistent depth of cut.

Note: In PartMaker/SwissCAM and PartMaker/Turn-Mill this strategy is available as Constant X finishing for machining functions where X-oriented tools are used.

This strategy supports Boundary curves.

The availability of this strategy depends on the machining function you are using.

The Constant Z finishing strategy is available for the following machining functions:

PartMaker/SwissCAM and PartMaker/Turn-Mill

Note: The strategy name changes to Constant X finishing when using the Mill ZY Plane machining function.

PartMaker/Mill

On the Strategy dialog, the following pages are available for the Constant Z Finishing strategy:

The remaining pages are common toolpath creation controls.

Tip: Use the Surfacing Defaults dialog to specify the default settings for Advanced Surface Machining toolpaths.
