Reinforcement Pattern dialog - Pier tab (RC foundation)

The Footing tab allows you to define the reinforcement parameters of the pier.

Access

Select RC Design Provided reinforcement layout, and then create a new RC element or open an existing one.

Dialog elements

Reinforcement type
Defines the foundation pier reinforcement method.
Elevation
Defines the horizontal stirrup spacing according to the following parameters:

h1 - Distance of the first stirrup from the top of the pier

e1 - Stirrup spacing (in the first layer from the top). An absolute or a relative value to the bar diameter may be entered.

n1 - Stirrup number (first layer)

e2 - Stirrup spacing (second layer from the top)

n2 - Stirrup number (second layer from the top)

Diameter option (d1, d2)

Defines the horizontal reinforcement diameter (for footing) and vertical (for footing and continuous foundation) for piers.

Spacing as in footing bars

This option is available for continuous footing. Imposes vertical stirrup spacing identical to the longitudinal bar spacing in the footing.

Steel types
Defines the type of steel for reinforcement of pier.
The type of steel for longitudinal and transversal reinforcement of pier may be the same as for:
  • longitudinal reinforcement
  • transversal reinforcement
  • additional reinforcement.
Note: You can specify the type of steel for longitudinal, transversal, and additional reinforcement in the Calculation Options dialog.

The Save As option allows you to reuse a set of reinforcement pattern parameters. This set is saved to your current user directory. You can reuse this set for the other element in the Reinforcement Pattern dialog or assign it to the selected element (or selected elements of the same type) in the RC Component Inspector.

The Delete option allows you to remove the selected set of reinforcement pattern parameters.
