Use this dialog to define the parameters of thin-walled steel members for the Eurocode 3.
Access
- Click Thin-walled in the Member Definition - Parameters dialog.

Dialog elements
- Type of forming

- Evaluates the average material resistance of the section f
ya
according to section 3.2.2.(3) of the code.

- Purlins stiffened with profiles sheets into account

- Analyzes purlins braced with a diaphragm of profiled sheets as specified in 10.1.
Note: Select this option to access the parameters of profiled sheeting.
 - Positioning of sheeting

- Determines how the sheeting is supported on purlins.

- The sheet can be supported on the purlin by the shorter corrugation, or by the longer one (Table 10.3)

- Sheet fastened through

- Specifies how the sheet is fastened to the purlin.

- Tthe list contains two items: trough and crest (Table 10.3)

- Pitch of fasteners

- Specifies the spacing of fasteners between the sheet and the purlin.

- The list contains two items: every corrugation (e = b
r
) and every other corrugation (e = 2b
r
) (Table 10.3).

- Model for calculating

- Determines the torsional stiffness of the trapezoidal sheet.

- The list contains two items (as specified in section 10.1.5.2.(3) and Figure 10.7): Model 1 and Model 2.

- Positioning of purlins

- Defines the position of the purlin in the analyzed sheeting structure.

- The list contains two items: End purlin and Mid-purlin (point 10.1.5.2.(3))

- Fastener axis - web distance

- Specifies the distance between the fastener axis and the web.

- This parameter is used in section 10.1.5.1(4) of the code to determine the stiffness K of the roof sheeting made of the trapezoidal sheet.

- Spacing of the purlins

- Determines the stiffness C,
D,C
of the roof sheeting made of the trapezoidal sheet.

- This value is used in section 10.1.5.2(4) of the code.

- New sheeting

- Opens the Corrugated Sheetings dialog which allows you to create, edit, or delete a sheeting.
